The Santa Ana Saints will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Monica Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Santa Ana fell victim to Orange's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They lost to the Panthers on the road by a decisive 14-0 margin. Santa Ana's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, Santa Monica missed an extra point against Culver City on Friday and it came back to haunt them. Santa Monica and Culver City were almost perfectly matched up, but Santa Monica suffered an agonizing 27-26 defeat. While losing is never fun, Santa Monica can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Culver City is ranked 113th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Wyatt Brown, who rushed for 30 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Mccallum, who gained 154 total yards and a touchdown.
Santa Ana's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Santa Monica, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
