The St. Mary's Spartans were the 18-14 winner over the Swampscott Big Blue when they last played one another back in September of 2014, but their luck changed this time around. St. Mary's suffered a tough 35-14 defeat at the hands of Swampscott on Friday. It was the first time this season that St. Mary's let down their fans at home.
Although St. Mary's took the loss, they still got scores from Ernie Panias and Yaniel Belliard.
St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Swampscott, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
St. Mary's will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Everett at 6:00 p.m. on November 22nd. Everett is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games. Swampscott will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Marblehead at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Marblehead is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
