Adding to the longest winning streak in Central Connecticut I East this week, Glastonbury beat Conard 39-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Tomahawks.
Newington lost to Southington 56-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jake Hedberg was a bright spot for the Indians, as he threw for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss.
Newington's Hedberg and Andrew Grenier have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hedberg has thrown for 1,895 yards this season, while Grenier has 46 catches for 748 yards. South Windsor's James Nyarko leads the league in rushing yards with 876.
Entering into this week's contest against Simsbury, Hedberg is short just 105 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
East Hartford and New Britain played the closest game in the league this week, with East Hartford eventually emerging with a 15-14 victory.
