In what's become a running theme this season, the Tatum Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by West Rusk on the road to the tune of 89-56. Tatum is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
Despite the loss, West Rusk still got an impressive performance from Kamyah Lacy, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Lacy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keke Murphy, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists.
Even though they lost, West Rusk smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. This was only their 15th loss (out of 22 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Tatum pushed their record up to 26-1 with that win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Rusk, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-20.
Tatum will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Arp will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1370th, while the Eagles are ranked 216th). As for West Rusk, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
