Baseball Recap: Dallastown Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Dallastown posted their closest victory since April 4th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Red Lion Lions. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.

Carson Meyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and two stolen bases.

In other pitching news, Matt Stone tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Dallastown is undefeated when Stone allows three or fewer hits, but 5-6 otherwise.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Cade Flinchbaugh, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Dallastown pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Red Lion, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-1.

Dallastown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-1 win against Spring Grove on the 28th. As for Red Lion, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Northeastern on the 28th.
