The Quapaw Wildcats were the 53-46 winner over the Welch Wildcats when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Quapaw took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Welch. Quapaw has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Welch's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Clinton, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Clinton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Colin Damann was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Quapaw's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Welch, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-7.
Quapaw will be playing at home against Commerce at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Commerce is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Welch, they will square off against Wyandotte at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
