Princeton moved up to 132 from 164 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Greater Miami. A 48-6 win over Hamilton helped the Vikings improve their standing.
Lakota West extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Oak Hills, 38-10. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Firebirds.
Next week's game between Middletown and Lakota West will feature a tantalizing aerial matchup as Jalin Marshall tests his arm against Luke Scott's defensive ability. So far this year the Middies' Marshall has 288 yards and two touchdowns to his credit, while Scott has notched one interceptions for Larry Cox's team.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Firebirds take on Middletown. At the moment, Lakota West is in first, while Troy Everhart's team is in seventh.
There should be lots of points scored when the Firebirds and the Middies face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Lakota West comes in having scored 218 this season, while Middletown has scored 184. The Firebirds scored 38 points last week as they beat the Highlanders.
Princeton took down the Big Blue 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
