The Bowie Bulldogs meant business on Thursday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Panthers squad that has allowed just 30 points per contest. Bowie took down Parkdale 62-46. The win was nothing new for Bowie as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Leading Bowie to victory were Nylah Jennings and Amira Kittles. Jennings scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Kittles went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kittles has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanaa Blunt, who scored four points.
Despite the loss, Parkdale still got an impressive performance from Hannah Youn, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Youn is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ashai Sesay was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Parkdale were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Bowie's victory bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Parkdale, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
Bowie will take on Northwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bowie is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Maryland (they are ranked 46th, while Northwestern is ranked 223rd). As for Parkdale, they will head out on the road to square off against Flowers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkdale's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Flowers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
