There's no place like home for West, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Clifton Cubs on Tuesday as the West Trojans made off with a 13-1 win. Considering the Trojans have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Tylor Bruce was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bruce was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ayden Poteet was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. James Darnell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
West's victory bumped their record up to 8-4-1. As for Clifton, they dropped their record down to 5-12-2 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
