Sadly, the Sheridan Rams are still looking for their first win of the season after 16 games. They were beaten by Fort Lupton 95-21 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Sheridan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Fort Lupton is ranked 107th).
Fort Lupton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Javon Gonzales led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Gonzales has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Shane Callahan, who scored 25 points along with two steals.
Sheridan dropped their record down to 0-16 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fort Lupton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.
Sheridan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 92-26 loss vs. DSST: Montview on the 8th. Fort Lupton has also already played their next match, a 72-28 win against The Pinnacle on the 8th.
