The high school football season is set to kickoff around the Sac-Joaquin Section on Aug. 20. The opening weekend includes some monster matchups, headlined by two of the section's best as
Monterey Trail (Elk Grove) hosts
Folsom. These two last met in 2019 when the Mustangs upset the Bulldogs to advance to the Division 1 section title game.
Right out of the gate we will have two of the area's top quarterbacks on one field. Folsom's
Tyler Tremain and Monterey Trail's
Frank Arcuri will be under center guiding squads looking to make deep postseason runs in 2021.
Here is a look at 20 players from the Sac-Joaquin Section to watch this season. These were players we selected based on rating from 247Sports, performance on the field in 2020 and past local awards.
