On Tuesday, Lake Havasu came up short against Green Valley and fell 44-37. While losing is never fun, Lake Havasu can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 247th in Arizona, while Green Valley is ranked 80th in Nevada).
Green Valley can attribute much of their success to Gianessa Vazquez, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Vazquez has scored at least 25% of Green Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Jazmine Ramirez, who scored 15 points.
Lake Havasu has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Green Valley, their win bumped their record up to 1-7.
