The Bishop Canevin Crusaders were the 59-50 winner over the Brashear Bulls when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Bishop Canevin fell just short of Brashear by a score of 50-48.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Raukeem Hawkins jr, who scored 11 points. Jason Cross Jr was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 3 steals.
Brashear's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Garett White, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Titus Gilett, who scored 13 points.
Bishop Canevin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Brashear, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Canevin will challenge Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brashear, they will head out on the road to face off against Neshannock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
