Even though the Craigmont Chiefs scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, the Millington Central Trojans still came out on top. Millington Central strolled past Craigmont with points to spare, taking the game 74-57. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Millington Central.
Millington Central found their leader in underclassman Andre Tyler, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tyler has scored all season. Aiden Maclin was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Craigmont had strong showings from Christopher Taylor, who scored 23 points, and Tashun Lewis, who scored 19 points.
Millington Central now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Craigmont, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millington Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Raleigh-Egypt at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Raleigh-Egypt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Millington Central likes a good challenge. As for Craigmont, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Munford at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Munford will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
