The Academic Magnet Raptors's three-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 45-25 margin over Charleston Math & Science. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Academic Magnet also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Academic Magnet was led to victory by Abby Brauchle and Holly Manning. Brauchle scored 11 points, while Manning scored 11 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsey Griffin, who scored 4 points along with 7 rebounds.
Several Riptide players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dalailyn Reed, who scored 11 points. The matchup was Reed's third in a row with at least ten points. Sarah Brown was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Academic Magnet's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Charleston Math & Science, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academic Magnet will take on Burke at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Burke is ranked 144th, while Academic Magnet is ranked 137th). As for Charleston Math & Science, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bishop England at 6:00 p.m.
