The Covenant Day Lions waltzed into their matchup Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 62-49 victory over Oceanside Collegiate Academy.
Elijah Green was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 21 points. Landon Haggarty was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Covenant Day is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covenant Day and Asheville Christian Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Oceanside Collegiate Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Academic Magnet at 8:00 p.m. on January 9th.
