Softball Recap: Fort Meade Wins Going Away Against Avon Park

After only two runs in their last match, Fort Meade made sure to put some runs up on the board against Avon Park on Monday. The Miners blew past the Red Devils 18-6. The result was nothing new for the Miners, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Fort Meade got a massive performance out of Makayla Deleon, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Deleon a new career-high in doubles (two). Kenya Faulk was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Fort Meade hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Fort Meade's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Avon Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Looking ahead, Fort Meade will head out to square off against George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Avon Park, they will host LaBelle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
