The Rowan County Vikings will challenge the Fleming County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Rowan County took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Victor 15-1. Considering the Vikings have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kelsey Pennington made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lauryn Eastham was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kassi Perkins, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Rowan County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Victor only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, Fleming County never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over West Carter. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Like Rowan County, Fleming County also got a great game from a two-way player: Trinity Flora. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Flora was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Mackenzie McGlone was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Mallory Price was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
The win got Rowan County back to even at 6-6. As for Fleming County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rowan County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Fleming County struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Rowan County's way against Fleming County when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Rowan County made off with a 12-1 win. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
