The Wade Hampton Generals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 28-14 fall against Eastside. Wade Hampton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eastside apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Eastside was led to victory by Peyton Schrader and Noah Hunnicutt. Schrader threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, while Hunnicutt picked up 156 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kalvin Banks and his 82 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Eastside's win.
Another reason for the win was Eastside's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Jaquavious Dodd and his three sacks.
Wade Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Eastside, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Wade Hampton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eastside will head out on the road to face off against South Pointe at 7:30 a.m. on Friday. South Pointe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastside in South Carolina (South Pointe is ranked 13th, while Eastside is ranked 99th).
