In what's become a running theme this season, the Niangua Cardinals gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 68-41 win over School of the Ozarks on the road. Winning may never get old, but Niangua sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
It was another big night for Ethan Scheetz, who scored 29 points along with seven assists and three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Henderson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
School of the Ozarks' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Graham Wilhoit, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Caleb Widner, who scored nine points along with six steals.
Niangua is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. As for School of the Ozarks, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Niangua will face off against Bakersfield at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for School of the Ozarks, they will head out on the road to face off against Classical at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Classical knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully School of the Ozarks likes a good challenge.
