Basketball Recap: Atlantic Coast Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fernandina Beach, Atlantic Coast was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They strolled past the Middleburg Broncos with points to spare, taking the game 49-33. The win was some much needed relief for the Stingrays as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Atlantic Coast had a senior duo take command as Da'Juan Thompson dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds and Jaden Pearson went 6 of 14 on his way to 13 points. Those 11 boards set a new season-high mark for Thompson. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Pardue, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

The victory got Atlantic Coast back to even at 7-7. As for Middleburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic Coast will host Harvest Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harvest Community is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. As for Middleburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Nassau at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Nassau has three straight wins, Middleburg has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
