Marshall gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past the Sturgis Trojans 10-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Redhawks also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.
Lincoln Fuller made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fuller was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Jaden Spence was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Andrew Nattie. Med Helmet, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will venture away from home to square off against Pewamo-Westphalia at 4:00 p.m. on March 26th. As for Sturgis, they are taking a road trip to take on Paw Paw at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
