Waylon Smith turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than two earned runs surrendered on Tuesday. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
