Pillow Academy was handed  a  three-set  defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene  on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Christ Covenant  3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  3-1  back in August.
 It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Pillow Academy got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 19-25, 25-19, 22-25,  15-3.
 Molley Blackstone had a dynamite game,  getting 18  digs and seven  aces. That's the most  aces  she has posted since back in August.  Ann Baxter Staples also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  kill of the season.
 They weren't the only good servers: Pillow Academy  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 20  aces. They are 6-2 when  they serve at least ten aces.

Pillow Academy's win  ended  a  three-match drought on the road  and  puts them at 7-9. As for Christ Covenant, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12-1 record  this season.
 After both having extra time off, Pillow Academy and Heritage Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Christ Covenant, they will face off against St. Joseph Catholic at 6:00  p.m.  on  the 30th.
