It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Chester Clippers had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 40-14 margin over Phoenixville. Chester is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daron Harris, who rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Williams, who rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Another reason for the win was Chester's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Dominic Toy was the leader with two sacks.
Ty Romance and Sam Moore certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Romance threw for 120 yards on eight of 13 attempts, while Moore only rushed for 35 yards and and a rushing score.
Chester pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.3 points per game. As for Phoenixville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
Chester will be playing at home against Bayard Rustin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bayard Rustin will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Phoenixville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
