Orange recap October 1, 2013
Magnolia scaled the state rankings by moving to 717 from 746 this week, the biggest jump in Orange. The Sentinels climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Beckman 26-12.
Century extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Saddleback, 16-12. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Anaheim's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hayden Guidry threw for 25 yards and Golliath Gaddy had 17 yards receiving. On the ground Jonathan Diaz chipped in 148 yards.
Diaz provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Colonists lost to Loara. Diaz's favorite target this week was Gaddy, who caught 2 passes for 17 yards.
Guidry put up the best numbers through the air as Anaheim lost to the Saxons.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Lanny Booher's team's Guidry and Gaddy have proven to be a lethal combination. Guidry has thrown for 322 yards this season, while Gaddy, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 12 catches for 155 yards. Jesse Carrasco from Century leads the league in rushing with 280 yards.
Magnolia made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,277 from 10,730. The improvement was largely due to a 26-12 victory over Ryan Olson's team last week.
