The Sandusky Blue Streaks will head out on the road to square off against the Columbian Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sandusky is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Sandusky pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 90-57 loss at the hands of Bellevue. While losing is never fun, Sandusky can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Bellevue is ranked 59th).
Meanwhile, Columbian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 46-23 loss at the hands of Clyde. The contest was a close 15-12 at the break, but unfortunately for Columbian it sure didn't stay that way.
Sandusky has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Columbian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Sandusky came out on top in a nail-biter against Columbian in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 44-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sandusky since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
