After five games on the road, Midlothian Heritage is heading back home. They will take on the Centennial Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Saturday, Midlothian Heritage came up short against Idalou and fell 42-33. While losing is never fun, Midlothian Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Idalou is ranked 47th).
The losing side was boosted by Grace Sweeney, who scored 20 points. She scored a full 60.6% of Midlothian Heritage's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Bri Finch, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, Centennial's game on Saturday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Waco by a score of 49-42.
Midlothian Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Midlothian Heritage against Centennial in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 82-24 win. Does Midlothian Heritage have another victory up their sleeve, or will Centennial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
