The Goshen Warriors had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.7 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 71-63 victory over Batavia. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Goshen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Zeinner, who scored 25 points along with four steals. The match was Zeinner's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Moore, who scored 13 points.
Goshen pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Batavia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.
Goshen will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Milford at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Milford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. Batavia won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Williamsburg at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. Williamsburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 432 points over their last seven games.
