Handley is 2-8 against James Wood since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Handley Judges will head out on the road to challenge the James Wood Colonels at 6:00 p.m. Handley will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Even though Handley has not done well against Sherando recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Handley walked away with a 59-51 victory over Sherando. Given Handley's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Sherando is ranked 184th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, James Wood came up short against Brentsville District on Friday and fell 48-37.
Handley's victory was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-0. As for James Wood, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
Handley took their win against James Wood in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 63-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Handley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
