Softball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Sherwood

Sherwood had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Century Jaguars. The result was nothing new for the Bowmen, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Presley Sarono-Ramos made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those runs were her first of the season.

In other pitching news, Destiny Cornwell looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Jordyn Henderson was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. McKenna Parmalee also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Sherwood pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Century, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

Sherwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against Glencoe on the 13th. As for Century, they have also already played their next match, a 12-2 win against Newberg on the 13th.
