Central is 0-4 against La Joya Community since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Bobcats will head out to face off against the Fighting Lobos at 3:45 p.m. Central has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Central fell victim to Copper Canyon and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Aztecs, falling 21-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Steven Beltran Garcia, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Beltran Garcia has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Joya Community). Everything went their way against Metro Tech on Wednesday as they made off with an 18-5 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Fighting Lobos, who have now won three games in a row.
La Joya Community also got a great performance from Aiden Justus as he pitched five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Aidan Escobedo was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Andrei Senreiso was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
La Joya Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Metro Tech only posted an OBP of .458.
La Joya Community's win bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like La Joya Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Central might still be hurting after the 23-1 loss they got from La Joya Community when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
