On Friday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the court. The Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas fell to the Carlsbad Lancers 105-99. One positive for the Little Hoyas, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

The loss snapped Georgetown Prep's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record. As for Carlsbad, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Georgetown Prep will welcome Paul VI at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Georgetown Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Paul VI likes a good challenge. As for Carlsbad, they and JSerra Catholic will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Carlsbad's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
