The Richmond Hill Wildcats lost against the Lowndes Vikings back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Richmond Hill fell 51-38 to Lowndes. While losing is never fun, Richmond Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Lowndes is ranked 24th).
Aryana Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lowndes, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Thomas pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Jackson, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Richmond Hill's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6. As for Lowndes, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.
