The loss comes after Mauldin defeated Wade Hampton 48-23 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Cavaliers, who were coming off a 37-34 defeat at the hands of Gaffney in its previous game. The victory snapped Dorman's two-game losing streak.
Mauldin (4-2) goes up against Gaffney in a AAAA Region II game matchup next week, while Dorman (5-2) locks horns with Spartanburg also in a AAAA Region II game.
