Last Monday, Miami Valley Christian Academy suffered a rough 54-32 defeat at the hands of New Richmond.
Meanwhile, Lockland's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against Shroder Paideia Academy by a score of 33-23. The victory was just what Lockland needed coming off of a 57-27 defeat in their prior matchup.
Jaylah Smith was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 32 rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadia Harris, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Miami Valley Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lockland, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6.
Miami Valley Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Lockland in their previous meeting back in January, winning 38-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Miami Valley Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
