Shenandoah Valley hasn't had much luck against Schuylkill Haven recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will host the Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shenandoah Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Minersville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Devils never let the Battlin' Miners get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Monday. While the Blue Devils didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Brayden Maksimik was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Schuylkill Haven came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Marian Catholic 13-1.

In other batting news, Alan Evans and Hunter Correll did most of the damage at the plate: Evans scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Correll went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Chase Yoder, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
The victory made it two in a row for Shenandoah Valley and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Schuylkill Haven, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Shenandoah Valley came up short against Schuylkill Haven in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 6-2. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
