The Northport Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 44 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bridgeport. Northport has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Northport's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Dawson Baribault, who threw for 194 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Searson, who picked up 172 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Esteban Martinez was a one-man wrecking crew for Bridgeport as he rushed for 317 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Gio Garcia, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
Northport's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Bridgeport, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6.
Northport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bridgeport also has no future games currently scheduled.
