South Caldwell had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Freedom on Tuesday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Patriots. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

South Caldwell's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Freedom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

South Caldwell has already played their next game, a 14-0 win against West Caldwell on the 9th. Freedom has also already played their next contest (against Ashe County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
