The Dieterich Movin Maroons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Ramsey 66-41. The score was close at the half, but Dieterich pulled away in the second half with 32 points.
Dieterich's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miley Britton, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Britton has scored at least 25% of Dieterich's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Miller, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lillie Eddy, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Eddy scored a full 26.8% of Ramsey's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Micah Greenwood was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Ramsey struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Dieterich pulled down 19 offensive rebounds.
Dieterich's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Ramsey, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Dieterich will take on Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Ella Kinkelaar and Britton. As for Ramsey, they will be playing at home against Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwestern comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
