The Black River Pirates's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Clearview Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Black River suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were beaten by Keystone 61-9. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Black River in their matchups with Keystone: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Clearview had to suffer through a rough 59-18 loss at the hands of Columbia. While losing is never fun, Clearview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 646th, while Columbia is ranked 141st).
Black River's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Clearview, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-8.
Black River came out on top in a nail-biter against Clearview in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 52-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Black River since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
