The Timpanogos Timberwolves will challenge the Viewmont Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
Timpanogos managed to slip by Mountain Ridge the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Timpanogos lost 16-7 to Mountain Ridge on Thursday.
Isacc Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Hunter, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Viewmont got the win against Farmington on Monday by a conclusive 18-3. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Beckham Smith and Cal Miller made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Smith tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Smith scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Miller got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two triples, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, James Peterson was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, five RBI, and one double. Elias Culley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI and one run.
Viewmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Farmington only posted an OBP of .278.
Viewmont pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Timpanogos, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
