Schaumburg is 8-2 against Rolling Meadows since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Saxons will head out on the road to face off against the Mustangs at 4:45 p.m. Schaumburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Schaumburg and Palatine have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Saxons fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 2-1. The loss was the Saxons' first of the season.

Schaumburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Dolecki, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Rolling Meadows and Elk Grove, and Elk Grove kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grenadiers on Tuesday.

Caylee Del Boccio made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Mary Linker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Rolling Meadows' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Schaumburg, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Rolling Meadows' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Schaumburg has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Rolling Meadows, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Schaumburg's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.

Schaumburg skirted past Rolling Meadows 12-10 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saxons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
