There's no place like home for The Plattsmouth Blue Devils, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Ralston 48-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Plattsmouth, who have now won six contests by 34 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plattsmouth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dominic Vercillino, who rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Adkins, who rushed for 68 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries.
Plattsmouth's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.2 points per game. As for Ralston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Plattsmouth will be playing in front of their home fans against Blair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ralston, they will head out on the road to face off against Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waverly is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
