The North Side Gators lost against the Coahoma County Red Panthers last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. North Side took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coahoma County. While losing is never fun, North Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Coahoma County is ranked 36th).
Jerasmus Eagins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Coahoma County, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Eagins set a new season high mark in steals with five. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hearns, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
North Side's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Coahoma County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Side will take on O'Bannon at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. O'Bannon is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Coahoma County, they will head out on the road to face off against North Panola at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
