The St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 64-54 to Hanna. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. Joseph Academy in their matchups with Hanna: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Bloodhounds players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucas Cristiano, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Cristiano hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jason Aguilar , who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Leading Hanna to victory were Jordan Matamoros and Beto Galarza. Matamoros dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Galarza scored 26 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was Galarza's 21st in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Ruiz, who scored two points along with seven rebounds.
St. Joseph Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-7. As for Hanna, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
St. Joseph Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Harlingen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harlingen will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak. Hanna is on the road again on Friday and play against Economedes at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Economedes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1210th, while Hanna is ranked 569th).
