Spotswood is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Waynesboro is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Trailblazers will host the Little Giants at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Spotswood knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Waynesboro likes a good challenge.
Spotswood's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past William Monroe's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Trailblazers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Dragons. Considering the Trailblazers have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Andrew O'Brian, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Jackson Baugher was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
Spotswood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Waynesboro hadn't done well against Wilson Memorial recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Little Giants narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Green Hornets 5-4.
Haden Morris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Morris was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Waynesboro: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, Casey Breeden and Aidan White did most of the damage at the plate: Breeden went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while White went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Breeden is becoming a predictor of Waynesboro's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 8-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Mikey Shifflett, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Waynesboro is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Spotswood, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Spotswood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Waynesboro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Spotswood took their victory against Waynesboro in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Trailblazers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Little Giants turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
