The Peetz Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Otis Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Peetz was fully in charge, breezing past Potter-Dix 85-38 at home. With Peetz ahead 51-21 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Peetz's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Naegele, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Naegele has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhyder Bayne, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 3 assists.
Meanwhile, Otis scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 88-47 victory over Lone Star. Otis pushed the score to 69-31 by the end of the third, a deficit Lone Star had no chance of recovering from.
Otis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mitchell Stivers led the charge by scoring 19 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stivers has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Charlie Kendrick, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
Peetz pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Otis, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Peetz strolled past Otis when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 69-51. Will Peetz repeat their success, or does Otis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
