Rowan County is 8-2 against Russell since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Jacob Toliver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Russell got a big performance out of Dawson Wada, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Wada has posted since back in March. Griffin Fisher was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Russell's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Rowan County, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rowan County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Russell struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
