It's playoff time, and Escambia had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Pine Forest Eagles on Thursday as they made off with a 14-4 victory. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.
Escambia got a big performance out of Amber Markham, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. That's the most runs Markham has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariyah Everheart, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Escambia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Forest only managed seven hits.
Escambia's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Pine Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
Coming up, Escambia will host Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. Pine Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
